Meta, formerly Facebook is long been developing a smartwatch. Now an image appears online that showcases rounded corners like Apple Watch and a small water-drop notch housing a camera. It also has a control button on the right. Reports suggest there will be a rear camera as well. Goes with the vision of Meta for creating a hardware ecosystem to assist Facebook in creating the metaverse, Mark Zuckerberg announced last week.

The Facebook Meta Smartwatch first leaked render has a design that is similar to the Apple Watch, but it is wider, rounder, and has more curved edges. A camera is located at the bottom of the display, and a control button is located on the right side. Steve Moser, an app developer, discovered the image inside the company’s app used to control its Ray-Ban Stories AR sunglasses, implying that it could be used to control the watch in the future.

According to sources, the company intends to release a smartwatch in early 2022. Because the company has yet to finalize the release date, it may not be ready until later this year. According to the source, Meta is already working on three different generations of the watch. The product in the leaked image could be the first-generation smartwatch, but it could also be a prototype that will never be seen.

The company is yet to announce the Facebook Meta Smartwatch price. Experts say that the wearable will cost around $400. It was reported in June that Facebook’s upcoming watch will feature a dual camera along with a heart rate monitor. The device will provide a cellular connection without the need for a smartphone. Users may be able to send messages using services such as Messenger and WhatsApp.
