Election Commission of Pakistan ECP disqualified Imran Khan for five years under Article 63(1)(p) for a misstatement in the Toshakhana reference.
In a unanimous decision, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Toshakhana case. It also determined that the PTI chairman is no longer a member of the National Assembly.
According to Article 63 (1) (p) of the Constitution, a person is “for the time being, disqualified from being elected or chosen as a member of the Majlis-e-Shoora (parliament) or of a provincial assembly under any law currently in force.”
The verdict issued at the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad by a four-member panel. It led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja.
The five-member panel reached a unanimous conclusion. The member from Punjab, however, was not there for today’s announcement.
To maintain peace and order in the Red Zone, at least 1,100 police officers have deployed. They doployed under the direction of a senior superintendent of police.
Five superintendents of police and six deputy superintendents of police will help the officer.
