Spotify, a Swedish music streaming service is set to take on short-video sharing platfrom TikTok. It is testing a new feature on its mobile app that adds a vertical feed of music videos. The feature will be similar to TikTok that users can scroll through to find something they like.

However, Spotify is not the first to try its hand at replicating the short-video App TikTok. Earlier, Several apps, including Instagram and YouTube, are emulating TikTok’s vertical short video feed.

TikTok made its fortune by creating short vertical videos with popular music playing in the background. A tech empire that other companies, including Spotify, want to replicate.

Spotify confirms that it is working on the feature. However, it refrains from revealing when it will be available to the general public. It declines from providing further details of the vertical video feed

The feature was discovered in the Spotify for iOS beta, which is available on TestFlight. A new icon in the app’s tab bar directs users to a new vertical video experience where they can swipe up and down to watch short video clips.

Users can navigate between clips by swiping vertically and liking clips by pressing the heart button, a fairly familiar interface that takes inspiration from TikTok.
