Six Freedom Fighters Martyred In Indian Occupied Kashmir

At least six freedom fighters were martyred in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by Indian forces on Thursday.

According to police, an Indian soldier was also killed and four others were injured in two separate clashes with occupational forces.

Officials familiar with the matter said at least 380 separatists, around 100 civilians, and more than 80 security forces personnel have been killed in the region since August 2019.

The violence increased after New Delhi revoked the regions status, bringing it under direct rule. This spread anger among locals of the area.

South Asia Terrorism Portal said in 2021, the death toll was 264 compared to 321 in 2020.

Police said the number of local fighters has dropped to fewer than 100 for the first time in a decade with intensified military operations against the freedom fighters.

India has an estimated 500,000 soldiers deployed against innocent Kashmiris in IIOJK.
