Pakistan’s Naseem Shah recently introduced New Zealand’s cricket team to the rich traditions of Eid ul Fitr, a Muslim holiday celebrated worldwide. The talented pacer took it upon himself to explain how Muslims celebrate this joyous occasion with their loved ones.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared the delightful news on Twitter, saying, “A sweet way to celebrate Eid with our guests. Speedster Naseem Shah shares the joy of Eid and introduces the New Zealand cricketers to sheer khurma.” Sheer Khurma is a delicious dessert that is one of the highlights of Eid.

During the encounter, Naseem provided insight into the food and clothing worn by Muslims during Eid, as well as how they greet one another. He then went on to discuss the significance of Sheer Khurma, stating that it is a very special dish.

“First of all, in the morning we change our dress for the prayers. After the prayers, we make this dish for Eid,” he explained. Naseem went on to demonstrate how everyone greets one another after prayers with a hug. He also described the concept of eidi.

The Kiwi players were able to taste the Sheer Khurma and engage in a cultural exchange with their hosts. Overall, it was a wonderful opportunity for the New Zealand cricket team to learn more about the traditions and customs of Pakistan during Eid.
