In a recent development, the federal government has made an official announcement regarding the holidays for Eid ul Adha 2023, a significant Islamic festival. As per the official notification, individuals working five days a week will enjoy a well-deserved break on June 29th and 30th (Thursday and Friday) to commemorate the Eid holidays.
For those who work six days a week, an extended holiday period has been granted from June 29th to July 1st (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). This extended break will allow them to fully immerse themselves in the festivities and spend quality time with family and loved ones.
To determine the commencement of the Islamic month of Zil Hajj, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held a meeting in Karachi. Led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the committee confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon, thus marking the beginning of the Zil Hajj month.
Eid-ul-Adha also referred to as the Festival of Sacrifice, is scheduled to be celebrated across Pakistan on Thursday, June 29th. This joyous occasion holds great religious significance for Muslims worldwide and is observed by engaging in acts of worship, communal prayers, and the sacrificial offering of animals.
By officially declaring these holidays, the federal government aims to ensure that individuals can fully participate in Eid-ul-Adha celebrations while enjoying a well-deserved break.
