In a devastating incident, Devraj Patel, a well-known comedian and YouTuber hailing from Chhattisgarh lost his life in a road accident on Monday. The incident occurred while Patel was en route to film a video in Raipur.
According to official reports, the accident took place at approximately 3:30 pm when Patel was riding as a pillion passenger. He had just finished shooting a video in Nava Raipur and was on his way back. Tragically, a collision with a truck resulted in severe head and bodily injuries for Patel.
The collision occurred near the Labhandih area, within the jurisdiction of the Telibandha police station. It is believed that the handle of the motorcycle collided with the truck, which was traveling in the same direction. As a consequence, Patel, riding as a pillion, ended up under the rear wheel of the heavy vehicle. Fortunately, the bike rider, Rakesh Manhar, escaped unhurt and immediately called for an ambulance. Patel was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Hailing from Mahasamund, Devraj Patel gained significant fame through his popular video titled ‘Dil se bura lagta hai,’ which garnered a massive following.
The news of Patel’s untimely demise deeply saddened Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who expressed his condolences on Twitter. Chief Minister Baghel shared an old video of Devraj and wrote, “Devraj Patel, who brought laughter into the lives of millions with ‘Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai,’ has left us today. It is truly disheartening to lose such incredible talent at such a young age. May God grant strength to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Om Shanti.”
Following Chief Minister Baghel’s tweet, fans of the beloved YouTuber took to social media to express their grief and share heartfelt tributes.
In 2021, Devraj Patel portrayed the character of a student in Bhuvan Bam’s web series, Dhindora, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
