In a significant development, the E-passport issuance process has been launched in passport offices across the country after its inauguration in Islamabad.
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has also released a clear fee structure for obtaining E-passports.
As per the new fee schedule, individuals opting for a 5-year E-passport with 36 pages will be required to pay a standard fee of Rs. 9,000. Those in need of an urgent issuance can avail the E-passport for Rs. 15,000. For a 10-year E-passport containing 36 pages, the regular fee is set at Rs. 13,500, with an urgent option available for Rs. 22,500.
For those seeking a 72-page E-passport, the standard fee is Rs. 16,500, while the urgent issuance comes at Rs. 27,000. A 10-year E-passport with 72 pages will cost Rs. 24,750 as the regular fee, and the urgent option will be priced at Rs. 40,500.
It’s worth noting that the regular passport fee will be charged according to the previous rates, and the new fee structure has been in effect since August 16th. This development aims to streamline the passport issuance process and provide more convenient options for travelers across the country.
