In a recent announcement, the Vietnamese government has unveiled an E-Visa service tailored specifically for Pakistani businesspeople. This development was made public by Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong during his address to the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI).
Ambassador Phong highlighted the crucial role that knowledge and connectivity play in fortifying trade ties between Vietnam and Pakistan. He stressed the need for mutual understanding and constructive problem-solving to overcome the challenges faced by both nations.
Vietnam has a strong trade relationship with Pakistan, involving the exchange of various goods. The ambassador emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two countries rather than competition.
Praising Faisalabad’s well-established textile sector, Ambassador Phong suggested that the city could embark on a new journey by embracing IT and transforming into a textile Silicon Valley. He also indicated Vietnam’s willingness to share technology and establish partnerships with potential Pakistani businesses.
In addition to trade, the ambassador expressed Vietnam’s readiness to assist Pakistan in developing its tourism industry. He proposed the idea of bilateral trade delegations and offered to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) meetings with relevant stakeholders to further enhance economic cooperation.
Furthermore, Ambassador Phong extended an invitation to Pakistani farmers, urging them to formally request support from the beef association. This step would pave the way for the opening of a new export avenue for Pakistan in Vietnam.
With the introduction of the E-Visa service, Vietnam aims to foster closer ties between the two nations, bolstering economic exchanges and cooperation in various sectors. This move signifies a positive step towards enhancing trade relations and strengthening the bond between Vietnam and Pakistan.
