Asad Shafiq
Asad ShafiqAsad Shafiq was born on 28 January 1986 in Karachi. He is a Pakistani international cricketer. A right-hand batsman and occasional leg-break bowler, he made his One Day International debut against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup on 21 June 2010 where he scored 17 runs from 19 balls. He has also played for Karachi Whites, Karachi Blues, Karachi Dolphins, Karachi Zebras, North West Frontier Province and Sind. He got his maiden fifty in ODI cricket against England on the 12th of September 2010. Shafiq excelled in middle order position and displayed his talent as a batsman. He was selected for the second match in the two match test series against South Africa and scored 61 in his debut innings. Originally, Asad Shafiq is a product of the Karachi tape ball circuit.

He stormed the first-class prospect in his introduction season in 2007-08, scoring a double-hundred. He also attained the landmark in two seasons when he scored 1244 runs in 12 games at 49.76. He made an impact as a limited-overs player in 2008-09, when he scored 379 runs in seven games at 54.14. The national selectors had allotted him as one for the future in meetings and he was prized him with a call-up for the Asia Cup in 2010. He played 13 test matches and scored 637 runs with batting average of 37.47 including 1 100’s and 4 50’s. His highest score is 104. He played 28 ODI’s and scored 766 runs with batting average of 30.64 including 6 50’s. His highest score is 78 not out. Whereas, he played 9 T20Is and scored 158 runs with batting average of 17.55. His highest score is 38 so far. This is a start of his career and still he has lots of time to improve and show his ability to play in Pakistan Cricket team for long time.
