The Legend of Maula Jatt release date is now confirmed. The most expensive and arguably the most anticipated Pakistani film to date is all set to release on Eid-Ul-Fitr this year.
The Legend of Maula Jatt is a Punjabi Language Film with an ensemble cast starring Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, and Humaima Malik. The film is the modern take on the 1979 Cult Classic Maula Jatt. It is written and directed by the acclaimed director of Waar, Bilal Lashari, and produced under the banner of Encyclomedia. The official trailer uploaded on Youtube in 2019 and the film was slated to release on Eid, but it fell into legal trouble.
After getting clearance from the court, the action drama film was back on track to release on Eid 2020, but Covid-19 halted all such activities resulting in the film also getting postponed. Now, the makers have announced a new release date for The Legend of Maula Jatt. It will take over the cinemas and theatres on the first day of Eid, 12 or 13 May 2021. According to reports, the film will also release in China on the same day as in Pakistan.
