Citizens at risk in Karachi; more than 50k cases of street crimes registered

Karachi, the city of lights is famously known now as a city of dark with its growing incidents of street crimes. Almost more than 50,000 cases of street crimes have been reported in Karachi in the year 2022. As the data revealed around 58 people are demised while resisting the crime and around 269 are wounded. 

Not just street but also burglary an another threat to the karachiites. More than 300 cases of burglary are registered. Street crimes are involves around 104 cars snatched and of 1383 stolen vehicles.

The previous month, on the orders of Murad Ali Shah, CM Sindh that stated the city to be cleaned from the growing street criminal activities and presided to maintain law and order in the city.

Ghulam Nabi Memon (IGP) briefed the CM in a meeting and discussed preventives to control street crimes. Memon said that police patrolling and an intelligence-based operation (IBO) are on the way to fight the criminals. However, unfortunately, the citizens are still at high stakes
