US, China agree on closer bilateral communication to address global economic issues

The United States and China have agreed on closer bilateral communication on economic issues.                                                         

The understanding was reached during a meeting between US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Chinese Vice Premier Liu Hein in Zurich, Switzerland.             

They underscored that there is pressing need for the two countries to enhance communication on global financial challenges.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is due to visit Beijing early next month, the first US secretary of state to visit China since October 2018.
