Shehroze Kashif scales Dhaulagiri becoming world's youngest to summit 12 peaks

21-year-old climber from Pakistan today scaled Mt Dhaulagiri becoming the youngest person to have successfully scaled 12 mountains above 8,000m.

"Shehroze Kashif has successfully scaled the 8167-metre peak this afternoon and he has now become the youngest mountaineer to summit 12 highest mountains of the world," Thaneswar Guragai, general manager at Seven Summit Treks, said.

Along with Kashif, Vibeke Andrea Sefland, Jitendra Ramdas Gaware, Chhepal Sherpa and Jangbu Sherpa also stood atop the mountain, he informed.

Kashif, who holds multiple climbing records, has to scale Shishapangma and Cho-Oyu to complete all 14 peaks. Hailing from Lahore, Kashif started climbing at the age of 11, starting from 3,000 metres and taking his passion to the next stage by reaching the milestones of 4,000m, 6,000m, and then to 8000m.
