According to Rachi, a staff reporter, the surge in thefts began as Eid-ul-Adha approached. The thieves targeted animals specifically intended for sacrificial offerings, disrupting the joyous spirit of the festival.
Among the stolen animals, 42 were goats and 11 were cows. Notably, Hamza Saeed, a resident of North Karachi Sector S-I Plot, had his 40 goats stolen, resulting in significant losses. The brazen thieves managed to carry out the theft by exploiting the vulnerability of unattended animals.
However, it wasn’t just goats that fell victim to these heartless acts. In Yasin Abad, an area in Azizabad, two goats stolen after the culprits cut through the shutter of a local shop. This incident added to the distress of the affected community members who had prepared for the religious sacrifices with great anticipation.
In another shocking incident near the Fire Brigade Station, a cow with an estimated value of three hundred thousand rupees stolen from a residential flat. The audacity and financial implications of this theft have left the owners devastated.
