Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is one of the most popular and influential YouTubers in the world. He is known for his extravagant stunts, generous giveaways, and viral challenges. But he recently shared a shocking story on Twitter that could have changed his life forever.

MrBeast tweeted that he was invited to join a submarine expedition to the Titanic, the famous ship that sank in 1912 after hitting an iceberg. He said he declined the offer because he was busy with other projects. He also showed a screenshot of a text message from someone who invited him on the trip.

I was invited earlier this month to ride the titanic submarine, I said no. Kind of scary that I could have been on it pic.twitter.com/bQUnaRiczA

However, MrBeast’s decision may have saved his life. A few days later, he learned that the submarine operated by OceanGate Expeditions, a company that offers deep-sea exploration tours, had imploded during a dive into the Titanic. The accident killed all five people on board, including OceanGate’s CEO, Stockton Rush.

MrBeast expressed his shock and sadness at the news, saying he felt “weird” and “scared” that he could have been one of the victims. He also sent his condolences to the families and friends of those who died.

OceanGate Expeditions can take people to the Titanic, 3,800 meters below the North Atlantic. It charges $250,000 per person for an 8-day mission with one dive. The company aims to offer a unique experience and support scientific research and preservation of the Titanic site.

MrBeast has 163+ million YouTube subscribers. He posts adventure and philanthropy videos. Popular ones include burying himself for 50 hours, giving away $1M in cars, and recreating Squid Game. He founded Team Trees, raising $20M to plant 20M trees globally.

Media has reached out to MrBeast’s representative and OceanGate Expeditions for further comments but has not received any response as of yet.
