Haval, the renowned automotive manufacturer, unveiled its highly anticipated large SUV, the H5. It is set to rival popular models like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol. With its robust design and powerful engine options, the Haval H5 aims to make a strong statement in the full-size SUV segment.
Haval’s H5 SUV, originally a compact model built on Great Wall Motors’ (GWM) pickup platform. It has undergone a transformation and now represents the company’s entry into the large SUV market. Boasting a rugged exterior and a range of impressive features, the H5 is poise to capture the attention of SUV enthusiasts.
The Haval H5 will be available with two engine options. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 163 horsepower. Second is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, capable of producing up to 221 horsepower. The SUV expected to feature a four-wheel drive (4WD) drivetrain, providing enhanced off-road capabilities. Furthermore, speculations suggest that Haval might also introduce a hybrid variant, utilizing GWM’s Hi4 Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) system.
Drawing inspiration from American SUVs, the H5 showcases a commanding presence on the road. Its front fascia features a large trapezoidal grille with two bold horizontal chrome-plated trim sections. The raised ridges on the engine cover and roof further enhance the SUV’s rugged appearance. The D-pillar is elegantly blackened, and the vehicle rides on stylish multi-spoke alloy wheels, completing its attractive side profile. At the rear, vertical taillights connected by a black decorative strip and high-mounted brake lights add to the H5’s distinctive design.
The Haval H5 scheduled to make its debut in the second half of 2023, with an estimated price range of Rs. 4.6 million to Rs. 5.7 million. While the full list of features yet to revealed, the initial pricing suggests that the H5 will cater to the mid-range segment. However, more luxurious variants may introduced in the future.
