Saudi Arabia Facilitates Umrah Travel with New E-Visas, Expanding Access for Muslims

Saudi Arabia has recently introduced electronic visas for Muslims intending to visit the country for Umrah, in an effort to enhance accessibility. The Ministry of Haj and Umrah has initiated this process to enable a larger number of Muslims from around the world to perform Umrah, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The issuance of e-visas will commence on July 19, with applications being accepted through the Nusuk platform.

The newly introduced e-visas for Umrah can now be obtained through the Nusuk platform, which offers comprehensive services for Muslims visiting Makkah and Madinah. In addition to visa issuance, the platform provides support for accommodation, transportation, and information services, catering to the diverse needs of pilgrims. This user-friendly digital system is available in multiple languages, facilitating a seamless experience for applicants.

In a separate announcement, the Ministry of Tourism in Saudi Arabia recently unveiled a new instant e-visa program for select visa holders from various countries.

Individuals holding tourism visas to the UK, US, and Schengen nations, as well as permanent residents of any EU country, are now eligible to obtain instant e-visas for Saudi Arabia. However, applicants holding business or tourism visas to the UK, US, or EU countries must have visited the respective destination before applying for a Saudi Arabian visa.
