Yamaha Pakistan, a top bike manufacturer, raised prices after Eid on July 5, 2023. The company informed dealers through a circular.

The circular revealed that Yamaha Pakistan has increased its bike prices by an average of 6.8%, ranging from Rs. 24,500 to Rs. 29,000 depending on the model. The new prices are as follows:

Yamaha YB125Z (Red/Black): Rs. 380,500 (up from Rs. 356,000)Yamaha YB125Z-DX (Red/Blue/Black): Rs. 408,000 (up from Rs. 381,500)Yamaha YBR 125 (Red/Blue/Black): Rs. 419,000 (up from Rs. 391,500)Yamaha YBR125G (Red/Black): Rs. 436,000 (up from Rs. 407,000)Yamaha YBR125G (Matt Dark Gray/Matt Orange): Rs. 439,000 (up from Rs. 410,000)

The new prices are effective from July 5, 2023, and are applicable to all dealerships in Pakistan. The circular did not mention any reason for the price hike, but it is widely believed that it is due to the import issues faced by Yamaha Pakistan. The company imports a number of its major components from Japan and other countries, which makes it vulnerable to changes in dollar rate and LC availability. According to a report by the media, Yamaha Pakistan’s import cost has increased by 30% in the last year due to these factors.

The price hike by Yamaha Pakistan has met with mixed reactions from dealers and customers. Some dealers have welcomed it as a necessary step to maintain profitability and quality in a challenging market. They have also expressed confidence that Yamaha bikes will retain their demand and value due to their superior performance and features.

However, some customers have criticized it as an unfair and unjustified move that will make Yamaha bikes unaffordable for many people. They have also complained that Yamaha Pakistan has not offered any new models or variants in recent years. The future outlook for Yamaha Pakistan is uncertain as it faces stiff competition from other bike makers such as Honda, Suzuki, United Motors, Road Prince, Super Power, and others.

Yamaha Pakistan has increased its bike prices by an average of 6.8% right after Eid on July 5, 2023, due to import woes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and dollar fluctuation. The new prices range from Rs. 380,500 to Rs. 439,000 depending on the model.
