In a tragic turn of events, torrential rains wreaked havoc in the provincial capital Lahore, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving several others injured. These incidents, involving roof and wall collapse, unfolded as the metropolis faced a second consecutive day of relentless rainfall.
According to media reports, a house near the Bandianwala bridge in the Amar Sidhu area experienced a roof collapse, claiming the lives of four individuals, including three children. Rescue officials informed the media that the dilapidated roof had weakened due to Wednesday’s rainfall, leading to the unfortunate incident. Remarkably, one person managed to be rescued from beneath the debris, providing a glimmer of hope amidst the tragedy.
Furthermore, the capital city of Punjab received another round of rainfall, intensifying concerns as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued warnings of heavy precipitation due to a new weather system.
In a separate incident, a portion of the wall at Mozang Hospital gave way, causing injuries to several individuals. The injured have since been promptly transported to local hospitals for medical assistance.
