In a significant step towards localizing the finance industry and fostering job opportunities for UAE citizens, the Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF) successfully organized the second edition of the Ethraa Career Fair. The event, held at the EIF’s base in Dubai International Academic City, proved to be a resounding success, offering more than 400 exclusive finance-related job openings for both fresh graduates and seasoned professionals.
The Ethraa Career Fair saw the participation of over 40 well-known banks, insurance firms, exchange companies, and other prominent financial institutions from across the region. This job fair is an integral part of the ambitious Ethraa Initiative, which aims to create 5,000 finance-related jobs by 2026. As a testament to the UAE government’s commitment to empowering its citizens with enhanced job prospects, the Ethraa Initiative aligns perfectly with the country’s broader agenda.
Saif Al Dhaheri, the visionary leader overseeing Strategy, Financial Infrastructure, and Digital Transformation at the UAE’s Central Bank, and also serving as Deputy Chairman of EIF’s Board, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s outcomes. He emphasized that the Ethraa Career Fair reflects the institute’s strategic goals for the 2023-2026 period, focusing on education, talent development, and smart workforce management.
The EIF, as the driving force behind the Ethraa Initiative, has pledged to create 3,500 jobs in the banking sector, aiming to achieve an impressive 45 percent localization rate. Additionally, the institute has set its sights on generating 1,500 jobs in the insurance sector, with a goal of attaining a commendable 30 percent localization rate.
Building on the success of the first Ethraa Career Fair, which took place in May 2022 and attracted over 50 major banks, insurance companies, exchange houses, and fintech firms from the region, the second edition has further solidified EIF’s reputation as a catalyst for positive change in the finance industry.
