In a significant move towards digital governance and transparency, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi of Punjab unveiled the E-Registration System for land records on Thursday in Sahiwal. This innovative initiative promises to revolutionize the way land records are managed and accessed in the district.
The inauguration event saw CM Mohsin Naqvi closely examine the online registration system and the procedures for document acquisition. The new system is expected to play a pivotal role in curbing tax evasion and bribery, as it enables the online availability of all land records.
During a pivotal meeting held at the DC office, the Chief Minister directed authorities to expedite the completion of the N5 highway flyover. This critical infrastructure project holds immense significance for the region’s development and connectivity.
Furthermore, CM Naqvi issued directives for the construction and repair of roads throughout the district. The upgrade of the DHQ hospital, a vital healthcare institution, was also emphasized for rapid execution.
Environmental concerns were not overlooked during this meeting. The Chief Minister insisted on the adoption of anti-smog measures, firmly endorsing a zero-tolerance policy to protect the environment.
Additionally, the meeting included a comprehensive review of the progress made on ongoing development projects supported by the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
To maintain peace and security in the region, Sahiwal’s Regional Police Officer (RPO) provided an update on the measures taken by the law enforcement agencies.
Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, IG Dr. Usman, Deputy Commissioners, and DPOs of Sahiwal, Okara, and Pakpattan, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue and Additional Deputy Commissioner Coordination, and other officials, were present to witness this significant event.
