WhatsApp To Stop Working On These Phones

Hamariweb  |  Oct 17, 2023

The Meta owned messaging giant announce that WhatsApp will stop working on these Android and iOS smartphones starting October 24.

As per the official website of WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, the platform will no longer be compatible with Android smartphones operating on Android OS versions 5.0 or earlier.

This is a recurring pattern for WhatsApp, driven by its continuous efforts to enhance features and user interfaces. While these updates are intended to improve the overall user experience, they also result in the end of support for older devices.

The decision to end support for Android OS 5.0 and below is in line with the industry’s shift toward more advanced operating systems and technologies.

This move is driven by the need to provide users with the latest security updates and features, which are often not compatible with older systems.

Users of these older Android devices and iOS smartphones may need to consider upgrading to more recent models that are compatible with the latest WhatsApp updates. This ensures they can continue to benefit from the messaging app’s evolving capabilities and security enhancements.

It is a common practice in the tech industry to phase out support for outdated software and hardware to maintain security and innovation standards.
