In a response to the recent drop in temperatures caused by rain, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has implemented new timing schedules for schools and colleges in both urban and rural areas of Islamabad. This change, effective immediately, aims to accommodate the shifting weather conditions and ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Under the revised schedule, single-shift institutes will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, with an early closure at 12:30 p.m. every Friday. This adjustment allows students to return home during daylight hours and avoid adverse weather conditions.

For double-shift institutes in the federal capital, the morning shift will now run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, concluding at 12:30 p.m. on Fridays. The evening shift has been set from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. between Monday and Thursday, while the second shift will commence at 2:30 p.m. on Fridays. These changes will help students adapt to the evolving weather patterns.

Postgraduate colleges, on the other hand, will adhere to an adjusted schedule, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m., offering flexibility to students pursuing higher education.

It’s worth noting that these timing revisions have been implemented to respond to the current weather conditions and ensure the safety of students and staff. Furthermore, similar adjustments in school timings are anticipated in other regions across the country as temperatures are expected to drop further.
