Government Announces Revised Hajj Scheme with Reduced Costs

In a recent development, the government has introduced a revised Hajj scheme, aimed at making the pilgrimage more accessible to Pakistani citizens. Under this new initiative, each individual participating in the government Hajj program will required to contribute 11 lakh rupees.

The decision to implement this scheme made in anticipation of the 2024 Hajj season. The federal cabinet having already given its approval. One of the key objectives of this scheme is to reduce the dependency on US dollars for the pilgrimage.

The government plans to allocate a budget of 28 crore dollars for the upcoming Hajj season. It is as part of the sponsorship scheme, 10,000 pilgrims will be able to fulfill their obligatory Hajj duties.

Under the sponsorship scheme, the expenses for the Hajj journey will collected in dollars, offering a more transparent and streamlined process for the participants. Notably, the Hajj quota for Pakistan for the year 2024 set at 179,210.

This new scheme expected to make the Hajj pilgrimage more affordable and efficient for Pakistani citizens, ensuring that a larger number of people can partake in this sacred journey. The government’s efforts in this regard demonstrate its commitment to facilitating religious obligations for its citizens while also managing the associated financial aspects effectively.
