Mental Health support launched in Pak by Umang/Google joint partnership

Google has launched a suicide helpline spot for Pakistanis. The feature connects the individual with suicide helpline support. The searches like help, suicide-related queries, or suicide ideas will automatically show a helping hand to the individual.�The searched will suggest a support from Umang Pakistan helpline.

Umang is a Pakistan 24/7 mental health helpline which is free of cost. Umang is recognized by WHO. The latest association between Google and Umang intends to solve the emerging suicide issues in Pakistan. As per a report by WHO, they are around 130k to 270k tried cases of suicide in Pakistan that happened each year. 

The CEO and Founder of Umang, Kinza Naeem said Pakistan is leastly addressed in the mental health and suicide issues. More than 40% of the people living in Pakistan are suffering from some or the mental disease. She further thanked Google and the partnership that can bear positive results. She seemed optimistic about reaching numerous people through the initiative and desired to break the mental health stigma in society.
