IG Sindh Police says Karachi facing a low crime rate compared to other cities 

As per the Inspector General Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, Karachi is the center of the economical activity of Pakistan and has a low crime rate as compared to other cities of the world. 

The statement was made in a delegation of the council of Economics and Energy Journalists (CEEJ). He said that the crime rate will be the same as compared to the previous years. Adding further, the police has spotted the smuggling of arm and arms dealers. 

He added, two groups are operating in street crimes one as professional criminals and other the as drug addicts. Memon said it is the priority to maintain law and order in Karachi. Moreover, he said that the police are using the finest and modern technology to monitor the dacoits and several cameras are also being installed in toll plazas. 

Around Rs3 billion in funds have been allocated for the counter-terrorism department with up-to-date technology. 

IG Sindh said that the budget was approved under a system with transparency. The Sindh department has around Rs 109 billion and 85% is spent on wages and the remaining 15% on operations. Further, the challan will now be issued by body camera in the coming month. 

The Sindh police department has decided to curb the supply of illegal arms that are being used in street crime. The task was given to the CTD to stop the illegal supply to Karachi.
