The death toll in devastating earthquakes in southern Türkiye has risen to 5,894.
Speaking at a news conference, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said as many as 5,775 buildings collapsed and 8,000 people have been rescued from the rubble of the buildings.
Turkiye has declared a state of emergency for three months in 10 provinces in order for search and rescue operations.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has announced $25 million in humanitarian aid for Türkiye and Syria following deadly earthquakes.
