In a highly encouraging development for students, the federal government has officially announced the relaunch of the youth laptop scheme. Under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme, a remarkable number of laptops, reaching up to one lac, will be distributed among deserving students, as revealed by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Prime Minister’s aide on Youth Affairs.
To be eligible for this scheme, students must fulfill the following criteria:
- Possess a valid CNIC/B-Form number.
- Be a currently enrolled student as of the application submission deadline.
- Be enrolled in a Ph.D./MS/MPhil program or any equivalent 18-year program.
- Be enrolled in a 4-year or 5-year bachelor’s degree program.
- Be enrolled in an MBA program (3.5 years, 2.5 years, or 1.5 years).
To apply for the PM Laptop Scheme, students are required to submit an online application through the official portal of the PM Youth Program. The application can be accessed at https://laptop.pmyp.gov.pk/. The online form necessitates the provision of essential personal information, including the ID card number, mobile contact, and email address.
Upon successful registration, applicants are required to log in to their accounts. By visiting the “Application Status” section, they can conveniently track the progress of their applications. Additionally, the website provides a comprehensive list of eligible universities and colleges, enabling applicants to ascertain their eligibility.
By implementing this relaunched youth laptop scheme, the federal government aims to empower students with the necessary technological tools to enhance their academic journeys.
