Famous Pakistani Song “Pasoori” to Be Featured in Bollywood Film ‘Satya Prem Ki Katha’

Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala recently announced the inclusion of the popular Pakistani song “Pasoori” in his upcoming film ‘Satya Prem Ki Katha’, which was recorded at Coke Studio Pakistan. However, concerns have been raised by singers advising against using the song.

“Pasoori” gained significant recognition in 2022 as one of Pakistan’s most celebrated songs, achieving international fame and breaking numerous records.

Reports from Indian media indicate that the announcement of the song’s remake came just a week and a half prior to the release of actors Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s upcoming film. The shooting for the remake has already commenced, featuring renowned artists Ali Sethi and Shae Gil.

However, this news triggered strong emotions of sadness and anger among singers, who voiced their discontent through various social media channels.

Many Twitter users have expressed the opinion that Bollywood, lacking creative prowess, tends to resort to imitation. Consequently, several users have criticized Bollywood, labeling it as “Pasoori,” and urging it to refrain from collaborating with Coke Studio.

One user pointed out the paradox of Bollywood’s attitude towards Pakistan and Muslims, citing their disdainful behavior on one hand while appropriating Pakistani songs on the other.

Another user demanded that if a remake must be made, it should be recorded with the original voices of Ali Sethi and Shae Gil. Some users have even appealed directly to Ali Sethi and Shae Gil, requesting them not to grant permission to Bollywood under any circumstances.
