What’s new about the 75rs note issued by State Bank and is it useful or not?

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched a new commemorative banknote of Rs. 75 to celebrate its 75th anniversary. This banknote unveiled by Governor SBP Jameel Ahmed in a ceremony held on July 4, 2023. The ceremony held at the SBP headquarters in Karachi.

The new Rs. 75 note is a one-time release and will be available for public issuance from July 14, 2023. It will available from SBP offices and commercial bank branches. The note is legal tender and can used for all transactions across the country.

Design of the new Rs. 75 note reflects the themes of leadership, history, and environment. The front side features the portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, symbolizing his influential role in the nation’s history. And the back side depicts the image of Fatima Jinnah, the sister of Quaid-e-Azam and a prominent leader of the Pakistan Movement.

This note also incorporates a representation of windmills, drawing attention to the importance of alternative energy sources for Pakistan’s development and sustainability. The note also showcases the architectural grandeur of the SBP building through elegant calligraphy.

This new Rs. 75 note is the third commemorative bank note issued by SBP after the Rs. 5 note issued in 1997 to mark the 50th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence and the Rs. 75 note issued in 2022 to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence.

The previous Rs. 75 note, which unveiled on August 14, 2022, featured the portraits of four eminent leaders who played a vital role in the creation of Pakistan: Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Sir Muhammad Iqbal, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. The reverse side highlighted the national animal Markhor and the national tree Deodar, along with a message of “Save Environment”.

This new Rs. 75 note is a symbol of pride and gratitude for SBP and its role in Pakistan’s economic stability and growth. It pays tribute to the leaders who laid the foundation of the country and inspires us to protect our environment for future generations.
