Saudi Arabia has condemned the attack on Iran’s consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus, saying Riyadh categorically rejects the targeting of diplomatic facilities.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement, that the attack is a violation of international diplomatic laws and the rules of diplomatic immunity.

The attack has drawn condemnation from several other countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Qatar and Gulf Cooperation Council.
