Indian Islamic Scholar Maulana Wahiduddin Khan Passes Away

The famous Indian peace activist and Islamic scholar Maulana Wahiduddin Khan passed away on Wednesday (yesterday). Last week, he had contracted Coronavirus and was admitted at Apollo Hospital Sarita Vihar, New Delhi.

His son, Zafarul Islam Khan revealed the sad news onTwitter. The former Chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission wrote that:

“Enter, then, among my servants! And, enter MyParadise!” (Qur’an – 89:27-30). The great Islamic scholar Maulana WahiduddinKhan breathed his last, late this evening. Doctors failed to revive his sinkingheart. Pray for his maghfirat and high station in Paradise. Amin.”

He received the Demiurgus Peace International Award under the patronage of Mikhail Gorbachev, the former Soviet Union leader. In the year 2000, he got the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor.

Padma Vibhushan, Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award,and National Citizens’ Award were also presented to him.
