Saudi Interior Ministry announces 10,000 riyals to be fine for performing Umrah without permission.

Saudi Arabia has announced a fine of 1,000 riyals for attempting to perform Umrah without permission. Al-Arabiya reports that a Saudi national security team has announced this new regulation over Twitter.

A statement by Saudi officials says those who try to enter Mecca without permission would be fine 1,000 riyals.

The statement also said that those who try to enter the holy city of Mecca without permission will be fined 266 USD.

The National Security Agency says the new fine is part of the country’s precautionary and protective measures. It is imposing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to follow precautionary measures during Umrah.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia had announced to allow 70,000 people to perform Umrah daily from September 9.
