The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially declared a public holiday on September 29, 2023, to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

This announcement follows the decision made by the Council of Ministers regarding the approved official holiday schedule for both government and private sectors in the UAE for the year 2023. As per this decision, the Prophet’s Birthday holiday is set to fall on Friday, September 29, 2023. This special holiday provides an extended weekend for public sector employees, allowing them to enjoy a three-day break, with a return to work scheduled for Monday.

Notably, the UAE Cabinet has also made it clear that private sector workers will also benefit from this holiday, with Friday, September 29, 2023, designated as a day off for them as well.

This move not only allows citizens and residents of the UAE to observe this significant religious occasion but also encourages unity and inclusivity by extending the holiday to both the public and private sectors. It promises to be a day of reflection and celebration for all, as they commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on September 29, 2023.
