Soon after New Zealand’s decision of abruptly abandoning the Pakistan tour, now the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has also withdrawn both of its men and women teams from Pakistan’s October trip.
This refusal from the ECB has received a raspy response from social media, which lambasts the England Board, saying they even didn’t care of Pakistan’s support during the Covid-19 Pandemic days rather they just simply refused to leave Pakistan alone in these difficult times, when they needed them the most.
While using their tweeter handlers, many social media users including PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja, former cricketer Bazid Khan, South African cricketer Keshav Maharaj, Pakistani senior journalists and sports experts, and others, expressed different views on England’s withdrawal from the Pakistan tour and consoled Pakistani cricket fans and team members saying they must raise their standard so high that other teams have to request the Men in Green to find a window to play series with them.
England also call off Pakistan tour after New Zealand
People on social media termed the ECB's decision a "controversy."
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja seemed unhappy over the decision. The chief said "Disappointed with England, pulling out of their commitment and failing a member of their Cricket fraternity when it needed it most. We will inshallah. He said it's a wake-up call for the Pak team to become the best team in the world for teams to line up to play them without making excuses.

Sindh pens letter to Center to allow entry of air ambulance for Umar Sharif
Senior sports journalist Azhar Masood Khan said that PCB should take a stern stance now.
Time for PCB to take stern stance!
As we have been cooperating with every cricket board and helping them in difficult times, just to support and promote cricket, but in return, we were betrayed again. Stop being generous for those boards, who don't return the favours. #PAKvENG

Senior cricket statistician Israr Ahmed Hashmi also expressed disappointment over the England Cricket Board's decision. He said "England's decision is like a stab in the back. They used us when they were at their lowest in 2020 and we happily obliged facing extreme bubble conditions."

Now that we needed them to scratch our back, they have backed out. Gutted and disappointed!#PAKvENG

Pakistan toured England twice during Covid-19 and went through with all the difficulties associated with the tours & helped ECB financially by touring. I stand with Pakistan team. Government must questioned England to share the details of security threat otherwise we should review our future cricketing ties with both Eng. and New Zealand. — Mazhar Abbas (@MazharAbbasGEO) September 20, 2021
Pakistan toured England in middle of pandemic, not once but twice. It toured New Zealand in most difficult and challenging conditions, all to support global cricket. Both have let down Pakistan. This is sad. Pakistan’s cricket fraternity has every right to feel betrayed. — Faizan Lakhani (@faizanlakhani) September 20, 2021
Pakistan have every right to be disappointed and feel they were used. Twice they went out of the way to tour England and went through strict bubbles and risked health of their players. 2 months bubble in 2020. But England can’t send a team even for two T20Is. RIDICULOUS! — Mazher Arshad (@MazherArshad) September 20, 2021
England cancels cricket tour. After New Zealand this is a very serious blow not just for cricket but Pakistan’s image as well. Victim blaming is one thing but it doesn’t help in any way. It needs a strong diplomatic response - not statements from cricketers or PCB. — Mohammad Zubair (@Real_MZubair) September 20, 2021
We the people of Pakistan should be mentally ready for another upset from Austraila. There’s no difference in New Zealand, England and Australia. Don’t expect anything from them too. — Ihtisham Ul Haq (@iihtishamm) September 20, 2021
Contrary to this, some Twitter users also supported Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) saying no matter someone is coming or not, we still support you and will definitely support you in the hard times.
Another day, another disappointment. The ECB has reluctantly decided to withdraw both teams from the October trip.

The England men and women's teams were each scheduled to play two Twenty20 international matches on Oct. 13 and 14 in Rawalpindi, with the women's side due to stay on for a three-match one-day international series from Oct. 17-21. England cricket board's decision makes no sense as they didn't even provide any solid reason behind withdrawing their tour. Postponing and abandoning have become new normal now. Pakistan Cricket Board should raise concern against those boards that took favors in the hard times but gave nothing in return but disappointment.
