Leicester blasted already relegated Watford to hand them their seventh defeat in eight Premier League games, with Jamie Vardy scoring twice.
The result enhances the Foxes’ chances of finishing in the top ten, while Watford drops to the bottom of the standings after losing 15 of their 19 home matches.
The afternoon had started well for the Hornets, with Roy Hodgson’s replacement Rob Edwards parading before kick-off.
They took the lead when Joao Pedro’s close-range attempt deflected off Timothy Castagne, and they had chances to expand their lead with Adam Masina hitting the crossbar and Brazilian forward Pedro having another effort well saved by Foxes goalkeeper Danny Ward.
Masina and Craig Cathcart made a defensive mix-up, allowing Youri Tielemans to set up James Maddison for the equalizer, and the Foxes grabbed control from there.
Vardy beat goalkeeper Ben Foster to the ball to head in Leicester’s second goal, before Harvey Barnes directed Marc Albrighton’s cross into the bottom left corner 22 seconds later.
While Pedro tested Ward twice more, Vardy raced on to Barnes’ pass to prod the ball past Foster, before Barnes added insult to injury by sweeping a low effort past Foster into the bottom right corner late on.
