The United Nations says more than 1.8 million Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing “extremely critical” levels of hunger.

An UN-backed food security assessment has revealed that 70 percent of crop fields have been destroyed during the ongoing Israeli military offensive.

The report said the risk of famine persists across the whole Gaza Strip.

The UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq during regular news briefing in New York this said is intolerable.

He said the Secretary-General is also calling on Israel to immediately reopen all crossing points.
