Karachi: On behalf of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Aleem Dar, Ahsan Raza and Javed Malik have been confirmed for umpiring in the upcoming the Pakistan - South Africa series, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed.
While this will be Dar's first ever Test at home, Raza and Malik are making their test debuts.
Aleem Dar, a veteran umpire who has stood in 132 tests, will be joined by Ahsan Raza and Javed Malik, who have umpired in ODIs and T20s but not in tests.
Asif Yaqoob and Rashid Riaz will be third and fourth umpires respectively.
During the three matches of the T20 series, Aleem and Ahsan will be on field umpires while Javed will be the match referee in the first match. During the second one, Ahsan and Rashid will be the third and fourth umpires while Aleem and Rashid will stand in the third and final T20.
ICC has temporarily removed restrictions on third country officials owing to logistic challenges with international travel as the coronavirus pandemic rages on across the globe.
