Telegram is rolling out the latest update for its instant messaging app bringing several new features. The Telegram new features include customized chat themes, read receipts for groups, interactive emojis, and more. It released an update earlier this month that included some major improvements such as unlimited live streams, the ability to remove captions from media, an improved sticker panel, new animated emoji, and much more. Now the app gets even better with the Telegram version 8.0.1 with several new features and improvements. The update is available across all platforms including Android and iOS.
What’s New in Telegram 8.0.1 Update?
The most significant improvement in the latest version of the Telegram app is the addition of new chat themes. Users can now customize the appearance of individual chats by selecting one of eight chat themes. Each theme includes colorful gradient message bubbles, an animated background, and unique background patterns. To change the theme, go to Chat Header > Change colors. Each theme also has a day and night mode. Telegram says it will add more chat themes in the future.
The Telegram new features for groups includes a significant change for reading receipts. When you send a message to a group, it is marked as “read” once at least one member has read it. Previously, the message was marked as “read” only after every single member of the group read it. Furthermore, you can now long-press on your message in smaller groups to see which members of the group have read it. According to Telegram, it will keep the record for seven days from the time it was sent.
Moreover, some animated emoji, such as the heart, thumbs up, and firecrackers, are now interactive and display in full-screen mode. If both ends of the chat are open, the animations and vibrations play at the same time. Additionally, live streams and video chats can now be recorded by Admins. Admins have the option of recording both video and audio or just audio. When the admin finishes recording, the recording file upl to their Saved Messages.
