Pakistan to achieve another landmark at Islamic Solidarity Games 2022

Altaf-ur-Rehman, Pakistan’s para-athlete has achieved a Bronze medal for the country in the Islamic Solidarity Games 2022 played in Konya, Turkey. Rehman, a 26-year-old from Peshawar, competed in class 4. He achieved the third position and secured a bronze medal with Rasul Atamuratov from Uzbekistan in men’s class 4 competition.

The Islamic Solidarity Games 2022 took place from August 9 to 18, 2022, in Konya, Turkey, under Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation. More than 4000 athletes participated and represented 54 countries.

Rehman’s couch, Umer Ali said that Rehman defeated Algeria by 3-0 but unfortunately lost to Turkey and Iran. Both the athletes ranked third and secured separate medals. Zainab Barkat, Altaf’s wife, is also a para-athlete who competes in class 3 Para Table Tennis events.
