QESCO Reveals List of High-Profile Defaulters as Crackdown on Electricity Theft Continue

In a surprising revelation, the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has exposed a list of influential figures who have fallen behind on their electricity bill payments. The list encompasses former Members of the National Assembly (MNAs), Senators, and transporters, shedding light on their accumulating unpaid dues.

Top Defaulter: Mir Hamayoun Aziz Kurd Owes Rs4.95 Million

According to a spokesperson from QESCO, the leading defaulter on the list is former Federal Minister Mir Hamayoun Aziz Kurd, who owes an astonishing sum of approximately Rs4.95 million.

Other Notable Defaulters:

Crackdown on Electricity Theft in Balochistan: 322 Cases Registered, 122 Arrests

QESCO has taken rigorous actions against electricity theft throughout Balochistan, with a total of 322 cases registered against electricity thieves, leading to the arrest of 122 individuals.

Quetta: 64 casesLoralai: 75 casesKhuzdar: 65 casesSibi: 88 casesPishin: 25 casesMakran: 5 cases

These efforts to combat electricity theft have resulted in approximately Rs75 million in fines collected from the culprits, with Rs42.6 million already recovered.

Enforcement Actions Taken:

Transformers Confiscated: 15 transformers have been seized.Illegal Transformers: 6 illegal transformers have been removed.Disconnections: A total of 435 defaulters in Quetta, Loralai, Khuzdar, Pishin, Sibi, and Makran have had their connections disconnected due to outstanding bills.
