Minister of State for Law and Justice, Shahadat Awan, announced plans to establish a women’s bazaar in the federal capital, aiming to provide a dedicated marketplace for women. This decision, backed by meticulous planning and a comprehensive study, has received full funding from the government.

During a recent session of the National Assembly, Minister Awan addressed various related questions. He candidly acknowledged that the previous administration had set up a women’s bazaar in G-10 without considering technical challenges. Unfortunately, due to its location infringing on the right of way of 11th Avenue, the bazaar was unable to become fully operational.

Responding to another inquiry, the minister provided insightful information about the sewage treatment plant situated in Sector 1-9/1. This state-of-the-art facility boasts a capacity to treat 17 million gallons of domestic sewage per day. Currently, the plant receives roughly 3-4 million gallons of untreated domestic sewage on a daily basis. However, it is worth noting that approximately 20 percent of the treated water is employed for maintaining green belts, nurseries, and plants in the vicinity.

The establishment of a women’s bazaar in the federal capital marks a significant step towards empowering women and promoting entrepreneurship. By addressing technical challenges, the government aims to ensure the successful operation of this dedicated marketplace.

Moreover, the sewage treatment plant in Sector 1-9/1 stands as a commendable effort to address domestic sewage concerns while also supporting the area’s greenery through the utilization of treated water. These initiatives highlight the government’s commitment to enhancing the lives of citizens and promoting sustainable development in the capital city.
