New WhatsApp features are currently under development by the Facebook-owned instant messaging App. We may get to see them soon if the company decides to make them available to everyone. Many of these features are already in public beta and can be tried out by users who have signed up for WhatsApp’s beta program. While others are still in development and may become available to all users shortly. Here are all the new WhatsApp features, the App has in store for the users.

Voice Note

WhatsApp is currently developing a “global voice message player,” which will allow users to listen to voice messages even after leaving chats. The voice message will display at the top of every section or chat you visit in the app. The option to pause and close the voice message will also be available at any time. Message Reaction

WhatsApp is developing Message Reactions, which are similar to those found on Facebook and Twitter and allow you to respond to a message with an emoji, sticker, or GIF. Individual and group chats will both be able to use the reactions feature. Users will be able to see message reactions just below the app’s texts.

Privacy Setting

For Android beta users, WhatsApp is introducing a custom new privacy setting feature. In the privacy settings, the company will add a new “My contacts except” option that will allow users to set last seen for specific contacts. WhatsApp currently offers only three privacy options. Chat Bubbles

WhatsApp recently updated its beta users on the iOS platform to version 2.21.200.11. Users can now view redesigned chat bubbles after the update. In comparison to the old chat bubble, beta users now see rounded, larger, and more colorful chat bubbles.

Backup Feature

The instant messaging App is reportedly developing a new feature that will allow users to manage the size of their WhatsApp chat backup and exclude specific content, such as documents and photos, from their cloud backup. The feature may be limited to Android devices and may be compatible with backups stored on Google Drive.
