A case of leaked documents by a whistleblower led META in trouble again. The documents released by a whistleblower claimed companies like Meta were aware of the damages done to the mental health and body image issues in young minds. Instagram then in response to the allegations opt to inaugurate an app that involves parents as a controlling authority on their app.
This tool will provide parents full authority over their child’s accounts. Where they can keep a eye on their child’s account in terms of picture sharing, downloading, usage and sharing content.
Soon the tool will be available at the Quest virtual reality of Meta but first, it will be available in the United States (yesterday). It will be available globally in the coming months. Meta will also allow a dashboard of supervision tool for Quest headset that will actively block or stop downloading of the age-inappropriate content.
