LAHORE - Pakistan ladies champion Ushna Suhail completed the hat-trick of the titles in the 6th Hassan Tariq Rahim National Ranking Tennis Championship 2021 that concluded here at Lahore Gymkhana Club tennis courts on Sunday.
In the women’s singles final, Ushna beat Sarah Mahboob Khan 6-0, 6-3. Ushna started the first set well, where Sarah tried hard to give tough time Ushna, who remained in control and took the first set 6-0. In the second set, Ushna was 2-1 up when Sarah fought back and levelled the score at 2-all. She continued to play do well and took 3-2 lead. Ushna then held her serve and her aggressive game plan and match-winning shots helped her take 4-3 lead and then finally, she broke Sarah’s serve to win the set 6-3 and lifted the title for the third time.
Sharing her views, Ushna said: “I entered the final with the mind of winning it and handled the pressure well and continued to dominate it with some match-winning shots. By the grace of Almighty, I succeeded in defending my title and I also completed hat-trick of HTR Tennis titles. Now my focus is on maintaining the winning performance and win more titles.”

In men’s singles final, Muzamil Murtaza beat M Shoaib 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. The men’s doubles final was won Aisam Qurashi and Aqeel Khan, who defeated the pair of M Abid and Waqas Malik 6-2, 6-4.
