Pakistan Declares At 300/4 In Second Test Against Bangladesh

Pakistan declared their first innings on 300/4 in the second test against Bangladesh on Tuesday in Dhaka.

Mohammad Rizwan and Fawad Alam each hit an unbeaten half-century. Rizwan scored 53 off 94 balls while Fawad was at 50 in 96 balls when skipper Babar Azam called it a day for the team.

Due to bad light and rain, only 63.2 overs of play were possible in the first three days with Pakistan reaching 188/2 after electing to bat first.

Pakistan lost two quick wickets early at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Ebadot Hossain dismissed Azhar Ali for 56 runs in the second over of the day when wicketkeeper Liton Das took a simple catch.

Pacer Khaled Ahmed trapped Babar Azam leg-before wicket for his maiden test wicket three overs later as the Pakistan skipper was dismissed for 76 runs.

It is pertinent to mention that Rizwan was saved twice on review, once on zero and then on 12 off the bowling of Ebadot and Taijul Islam.

The day was resumed on 188/2. Babar and Azhar Ali put on 123 runs for the third wicket before Azhar was dismissed on 56.

Had Khaled Ahmed not put down a tough chance, the hosts could have swung the momentum, offered by Babar on 39 off left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan’s bowling.

Pakistan lead the two-Test series 1-0 after winning the first test in Chittagong against the tigers by eight wickets.

The visitors went in with an unchanged squad from the first test while Bangladesh handed Mahmudul Hasan a debut and brought in Shakib and Ahmed in three changes to the team.

Saif Hassan, Yasir Ali and Abu Jayed were dropped from the opening test match.
