Javed Afridi, the owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Peshawar Zalmi, offered a sponsorship offer to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Sunday as a goodwill gesture during the country’s current upheaval and economic difficulties.
“The people of Sri Lanka love cricket as much as we Pakistanis do,” Javed Afridi commented on Twitter, “but the current not so favourable condition must’ve wounded Lankans cricket fans.”
He stated that his offer was made to help Sri Lanka preserve its international prominence in cricket.
“As a result, I pledge my entire support to sponsor @OfficialSLC to the best of my abilities in order to retain their international status in the world of cricket,” Javed Afridi added.
