Maldives: Opposition candidate wins presidential election

In Maldives, opposition leader and People's National Congress candidate Mohamed Muiz has won the presidential run-off elections.

He secured more than 54 percent of the vote, beating incumbent Ibrahim Solih, who had 46 percent vote after counting.

Mohamed Muiz who launched an "India out" campaign in elections, has promised to remove Indian troops from Maldives and rebalance the country's trade.
