Saudi Arabia Prince named Prime Minister

Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Muhammad Bin Salman has been named Prime Minister. The post that is kept by the kings in a shuffle was announced on Tuesday. MBS who has been the ruler for years was serving as a PM and defense minister under King Salman. King Salman has been replaced by his brother Khalid Bin Salman as a defense minister. 

Meanwhile, other office bearers in the ministry remain the same including energy, interior and foreign. The news was informed through a royal decree. Prince MBS turned 37 and succeeded his father in 2017 by becoming a defense minister in 2015 which took him to the new rise of power in the kingdom. 

Saudi Arabia has spent years attempting to settle rumors about the health of King Salman, 86, who has overseen the world’s largest oil exporter since 2015.
